“My love for the State of Iowa has always inspired me to represent where I’m from. No matter where I travel, several pieces of clothing representing Iowa always made the trip. After moving to Colorado, I was inspired to create a hat at a local store on a University of Iowa Hawkeye game day. I added “319” for my hometown Iowa area code and replaced the “1” with an “I” for Iowa. The design quickly caught the attention of friends, family and Iowans. I trademarked the logo and it has since inspired all the designs you see today.”
